About this journey
Jaisalmer rises out of the Thar Desert like a sandcastle — a living fort with homes, temples and havelis still inside its walls. This short adventure combines two nights in the city with two nights in the desert.
You will ride camels across the dunes at sunset, take a jeep safari to abandoned Kuldhara village, sleep in a luxury tented camp and wake to the silence of the desert.

Itinerary
Day by day
Day 1Arrive in Jaisalmer
Arrive in Jaisalmer and transfer to your hotel. Watch the fort glow gold at sunset from the hotel terrace.
Day 2The golden fort
A guided walk through the living fort, its Jain temples and lanes, then the carved façades of Patwon ki Haveli. Sunset at Gadisar Lake.
Day 3Into the desert
Drive into the Thar, stopping at the abandoned village of Kuldhara on a jeep safari. Arrive at your desert camp for a camel ride over the dunes as the sun sets, then dinner with folk music.
Day 4Desert day
Wake to sunrise over the dunes. Spend the day with village walks, birdwatching or simply resting in camp; evening drinks on the dunes under a sky full of stars.
Day 5Departure
Breakfast in camp, then transfer to Jaisalmer for your onward journey.

October to March. Desert camps usually close from April to September because of the heat.
